Dubai, UAE; February 17, 2016: Under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai crown prince and chairman of the Executive Council, Emirates Gas, an ENOC subsidiary, won the first place in Environmental Protection category at the eighth edition of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST). The award has been instituted by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), to encourage public and private sectors and individuals towards excellence and implementation of best practices in promoting transport safety, environmental protection measures in transportation.   

The award was received by H.E. Saif Al Falasi, ENOC Group CEO at the hands of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman, Emirates Group, in the presence of Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director, ENOC Marketing and Nader Al Fardan, Emirates Gas General Manager.

Emirates Gas has been promoting Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), an alternate auto fuel, as a clean and green fuel in reducing emissions and has been instrumental in creating necessary infrastructure to support this initiative which is aligned with the vision and strategy of Dubai’s clean energy vision. This is the third time Emirates Gas is receiving the DAST award.
